Subscribe in the iPhone app
Create your account, set up your domain and subscribe without leaving the iPhone app. Apple bills the subscription.

Create an account in the app
Open the app and choose Create account. Shipmail emails you a code to confirm your address, then the app walks you through naming your organization, connecting your domain and creating your first mailbox. If you stop part-way, the app and the web both pick up where you left off.
Someone who was invited to an organization opens the invitation link from the email on their iPhone, and the app accepts it.
What you can buy
The app sells Solo, Pro and Team, billed monthly or yearly. Each plan has the same features and limits as on the web; the billing page lists them. The app shows the price Apple charges in your country, including taxes, so it can differ from the web price.
Only the organization owner can subscribe or change the plan. Everyone else sees the plan and what it includes.
These stay on the web:
- The Scale plan.
- Add-ons: extra mailbox capacity, mailbox storage and newsletter sends.
- Buying a domain through Shipmail.
- Invoices with your company name and tax number.
To get one of them, move to web billing (see below). An organization already billed on the web keeps managing its plan on the web; the app shows the plan and links to it.
Free trial
A subscription starts with a 14-day free trial. You confirm with Face ID or your Apple account password and do not type a card. Apple offers the trial once per Apple account. During the trial the same lower limits apply as for a web trial.
Change your plan
In the app, open More, Account, Plan and choose Change plan. Apple applies a move to a larger plan at once and refunds the unused part of the old one. A move to a smaller plan starts at your next renewal. If your organization uses more than the smaller plan allows, what you already have keeps working, but you cannot add more until you are under the limit.
Cancel
- Open Settings on your iPhone and tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions, then Shipmail.
- Tap Cancel Subscription.
The plan screen in the app has a Manage subscription button that opens the same page. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Then your mailboxes are suspended: they stop sending and receiving, and you can still read old mail. Subscribe again in the app to restore them.
Deleting your Shipmail account does not cancel an App Store subscription. Cancel it in Settings too, or Apple keeps renewing it.
Payment problems
If Apple cannot charge your payment method, update it: open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Payment & Shipping. Your mail keeps working while Apple retries the charge. If Apple gives up, the subscription ends and your mailboxes keep working for 14 more days, or 7 after a trial. Subscribe again in the app before then to keep them running. Shipmail emails you at each step.
Receipts and refunds
Apple emails you a receipt for each charge. To see past charges, open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Media & Purchases, View Account and Purchase History.
Only Apple can refund an App Store purchase. Ask for a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Move to web billing
Move to web billing when you need Scale, add-ons, or invoices with your company's tax number. You are never charged twice for the same period.
- Turn off renewal: in Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, Shipmail and Cancel Subscription.
- On the web, open Settings > Billing and choose Continue on the web. Pick the same plan or another one, including Scale.
- The web subscription starts when the App Store period ends, with no gap. Your mailboxes are not suspended in between.
The web offer waits while Apple is still retrying a failed payment: fix or cancel the App Store subscription first. Moving from web billing to the App Store is not offered.
