Mailboxes
Mailboxes are email addresses on your verified domains. Each mailbox has its own login credentials and storage.

Creating a mailbox
Go to the Mailboxes page and click Create mailbox. Enter the local part (the part before the @), select a verified domain, set a password, and optionally add a display name.
The password must be at least 8 characters and include an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, and a number. This is the password you will use to connect in your email client.
Editing a mailbox
Click the Edit button on any mailbox row to update the display name. The display name appears in the From header of outgoing email.
Resetting the password
Click Reset Password on the mailbox row to set a new password. The new password takes effect immediately. You will need to update the password in any email clients that use this mailbox.
Catch-all
You can designate one mailbox per domain as a catch-all. Any email sent to an address that does not match an existing mailbox on that domain will be delivered to the catch-all mailbox. See Catch-all addresses for details.
Storage quota
Each mailbox has a 10 GB storage quota. This includes email, attachments, calendar events, and contacts. When a mailbox reaches its quota, incoming email will be rejected until storage is freed.
Deleting a mailbox
Click Delete on the mailbox row and confirm. This permanently removes the mailbox and all its data, including stored email, calendar events, and contacts. This action cannot be undone.
Frequently asked questions
How many mailboxes can I create?
It depends on your plan. Solo includes 3 mailboxes, Pro includes 10, and Team includes 50. You can see your current usage and limit in the dashboard. If you hit the limit, upgrade your plan or delete unused mailboxes.
Can more than one person use the same mailbox?
Yes. A mailbox is an address with a password. You can share those credentials with a colleague and both of you will see the same inbox from your own email clients. This is the simplest way to run a shared address like hello@yourdomain.com.
What happens to my email if I delete a mailbox?
Everything is removed permanently. Stored email, calendar events, and contacts for that mailbox are deleted and cannot be recovered. If you only want to stop receiving mail temporarily, suspend the mailbox instead of deleting it.
Can I move an existing email account into a shipmail mailbox?
Yes. Create the mailbox first, then use any IMAP migration tool (imapsync is a common one) to copy messages from your old provider into the shipmail mailbox. See the migrate from Gmail guide for a full walkthrough.
