Thunderbird
Thunderbird supports auto-discovery via autoconfig. Entering your email address and password should be enough for automatic setup.
Setup steps
- Open Thunderbird and go to Account Settings.
- Click Account Actions > Add Mail Account.
- Enter your name, full email address (e.g.
you@example.com), and mailbox password. - Click Continue. Thunderbird will query the autoconfig endpoint and detect the settings automatically.
- Verify the detected settings show IMAP on port
993and SMTP on port465, both with SSL/TLS. - Click Done.
Manual configuration
If auto-detection fails, click Manual config and enter:
| Setting | Incoming (IMAP) | Outgoing (SMTP) |
|---|---|---|
| Server | mx1.shipmail.to | mx1.shipmail.to |
| Port | 993 | 465 |
| Security | SSL/TLS | SSL/TLS |
| Auth | Normal password | Normal password |
JMAP (Thunderbird 128+)
Thunderbird 128 and later support JMAP. During account setup, select JMAP as the incoming protocol and enter https://mx1.shipmail.to/.well-known/jmap as the URL.
