Plans and pricing

shipmail offers four plans. Annual billing saves roughly two months per year. See plan limits for the full list of resource quotas.

PlanMonthlyAnnualMailboxesSends / monthNewsletter mediaMembers
Free$0$00001
Solo$4/mo$40/yr31,0002 GB1
Pro$9/mo$90/yr1010,00010 GB5
Team$29/mo$290/yr50100,00050 GBUnlimited

The Free plan lets you explore the dashboard and set up domains, but does not include mailboxes or sending. Subscribe to a paid plan to create mailboxes.

Free trial

Your first subscription includes a 14-day free trial. A card is required if we do not already have one on file. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your card is charged automatically.

During the trial, mailboxes and outbound sends are capped below the full plan limits to prevent abuse. Team member limits follow the selected plan.

Full plan limits apply immediately after the trial ends and payment succeeds.

Plan changes

Upgrades and downgrades take effect immediately. Stripe calculates a prorated credit or charge for the remainder of your billing period.

When downgrading, you must first reduce your resources (mailboxes, team members) to fit within the target plan limits. The dashboard will show which resources need to be removed before the downgrade can proceed.

Renewals and reminders

Your Settings > Billing page shows the date your plan renews and the amount you will be charged. When a subscription is set to cancel, it shows the date access ends instead, with no further charges.

Before an annual plan renews, shipmail emails you around three weeks ahead with the renewal date and amount. Monthly plans get a reminder once a year. Every reminder links back to billing so you can change plans, update your card, or cancel before the charge.

Cancellation

Cancel anytime from Settings > Billing. Your subscription stays active until the end of the current billing period. Mailboxes are suspended when the period ends.

You can reactivate your subscription before the billing period ends to keep your mailboxes running without interruption.

Payment failures

If a payment fails, Stripe retries the charge automatically over several days. You will receive an email notification for each failed attempt.

If all retries fail, the subscription is cancelled with a grace period. Active subscriptions get a 14-day grace period. Trial-to-paid failures get a 7-day grace period. Mailboxes are suspended when the grace period expires.

Mailbox suspension

Suspended mailboxes cannot send or receive email. Suspension happens when a subscription ends (after cancellation or payment failure grace period).

Re-subscribing to any paid plan restores all mailboxes automatically. No data is deleted during suspension.
