Forwarding incoming mail

Send a copy of incoming mail to up to three other addresses. Filter by sender, by the mailbox address that received the mail, or by both. Each destination confirms by link before forwarding starts, and the original stays in the Shipmail mailbox.

Forwarding incoming mail

Open Settings > Incoming mail > Forwarding for a mailbox. Add up to three destination addresses. Shipmail sends a confirmation link to each destination and does not forward anything until that link is accepted.

Forwarded messages also stay in the Shipmail mailbox. Spam is filtered first and is not forwarded. Leave the sender field empty to match every sender, or enter one exact sender address. To forward mail for one address only, select the mailbox's primary address or one of its aliases in Only mail sent to. Select All mailbox addresses to match every address. If you select both filters, a message must match both. You can remove a pending or active destination from the same page.

To start with an alias selected, open its row menu and choose Forward this alias. This opens the parent mailbox's Forwarding settings with that alias selected. You do not need another mailbox for the alias.

The forwarded copy is sent from your mailbox address so it passes the destination's authentication checks. The original sender's name is kept in the From line (for example Snowball via hello@example.com), and the original address is set as Reply-To when the message has none, so replies still reach the sender. API users can manage the same destinations through the mailbox forwarding endpoints.
